Cloisters, Stamford, Restaurant Review

After my skiing lesson on Saturday learning to do pizza and chips, which is snow plough turns and parallel straight skiing. We went to Cloisters Italian Restaurant in Stamford. The waitress took us to our table, which overlooked the kitchen, where you could see the chef preparing the food. We ordered off the three course lunch menu.

Dad and I ordered the antipasti starter of cured meats, sliced ham, olives, pickled vegetables, grilled focaccia bread with a rocket salad.  My favourite bit of the starter was the cured meats, because I like salami and there was salami on it. I also liked the olives because they had a nice strong flavour. I scored the starter 10 out of 10, but I would have given it 11 if there was more meat! Mum ordered tomato, basil and red onion bruschetta. Mum liked her starter so much she finished it before I got a chance to try some!

For the mains Mum ordered the Quattro Stagioni pizza,  which was mushrooms, artichokes, mozzarella, red pepper and tomatoes served with fries, and Dad and I ordered the Napoli pizza, which had tomato, mozzarella, ham, salami , mushrooms and roasted red pepper on it and it came with salad, but we all shared.

The pizza bases were soft in the middle and crispy on the crust. The toppings were also very tasty. My favourite out of the two pizzas was the Napoli because it had no artichokes on it and it had lots of salami and I love salami. I would give this 10 out of 10. I didn’t like the dressing on the salad as it was too vinegary so I gave this 1 out of 10. Next time I would ask for no dressing on the salad.

To finish we ordered the cheesecake and sorbet. Out of the two desserts I preferred the sorbet and gave it 9 out of 10, as it was really nice and very fruity. The biscuit base on the cheesecake was quite nice but the filling was a bit too nutty for me. So my score is 5 out of 10.

Finally I would score the restaurant service 10 out of 10, because the waitress was quite friendly. She was checking all the food to make sure Mum could eat it because Mum has a food allergy, and I would come back again.
