My first review is of The Deeping Stage in Market Deeping. Aunty Val, Mum, Dad and me went out for a meal here on Tuesday evening. We choose where we sat in the restaurant as it wasn’t very busy. We picked an octagon shaped table near the back door so I could play in the play park while we waited for the food.
There was a main, early bird and children’s menu. I chose scampi chips and beans off the children’s menu. Mum ordered lamb, dauphinoise potatoes and green vegetables. Dad picked chicken in a mushroom sauce with dauphinoise potatoes and garlic green beans and Aunty Val chose king prawns and chorizo linguine, all from the main menu.
I tasted 3 of the meals and scored them all out of ten. My favourite was the lamb dish. I rated it 10 out of 10 because it was nice, pink and tender and the potatoes were nice and creamy. I gave the scampi 9 out of 10 as it was nice and soft on the inside and the bread crumbs were crispy on the outside. The prawns got a score of 8 as I like them but wasn’t the best prawns I have tasted in the world. These were the garlic prawns in Gran Canaria. Next time I would like to taste all the meals, as I didn’t taste the chicken and would have liked too.
After the main meal I went and got the desert board and read out the desert menu. We chose the chocolate brownie with ice cream, blackcurrant sorbet and the lemon posset. My favourite was the brownie as it was very chocolaty. The sorbet was cold and sharp but I still liked it. I liked the posset but it was my least favourite dessert as it needs to be sharper so more lemons need to be added. Also the berry compote on the top had too many blackcurrants in it for me. I would rather have a strawberry and raspberry compote with it instead.
We all really enjoyed our meal and would come back. I would like to try the pizza night next time.
Also next time when I go out for dinner I would take photographs of the meals so I can add them into my next review.
Bye Bye for now.
